Brown Fused Alumina is produced by the fusion of bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperatures. The brownish colored product has both high hardness and extreme toughness, along with its high temperature resistance, strong resistance to erosions, and high machinery strength. Furthermore, it has thermal stability, making it a great raw material for producing shaped refractories.
Brown Aluminum Oxide is created from premium materials and a 3500 KVA furnace. It is mainly used for general abrasive applications such as those found in bonded abrasive tools, polishing tools, and sandblasting tools. While its hardness and abrasive capacity are lower than those of diamond, boron carbide, and silicon carbide, it is still frequently used for grinding ferrous materials and finishing hard and tough items. Moreover, it is an excellent material for high-grade refractories that is offered in both macro and micro powder form, under the F and P grades.
